Cold War Kids Rock with Knob Creek

Concertgoers in skinny jeans and fashionable vests flocked to Schubas Tavern in Chicago Friday (Oct. 20) for a private performance by Whittier, CA’s Brit-pop-inspired, garage-blues-tinged Cold War Kids. Gigantic bottles of Knob Creek bourbon whiskey served as props on stage while openers the Mugs hyped the crowd up before Cold War Kids emerged. The band, known for their hyper live shows, peppered their sound with maraca shakes and hand claps on songs like “We Used to Vacation” and “Saint John,” which ignited a storm of trancelike sways.
