China Bans Jay-Z

Jay-Z, currently on a world tour, will have to cross Shanghai off his itinerary. The Culture Ministry of China has opted not to give local promoters a permit to hold the rapper’s Oct. 23 concert at Shanghai’s Hongkou Stadium, according to the AP. “Some of Jay-Z’s songs contain too much vulgar language,” promoter Sun Yun explained in the Shanghai Daily. Hova has ten dates left on his world tour, during which he is promoting water conservation.

Talk: Could Hova encounter any more problems like this in Holland, Australia, or Africa, where he’ll be heading for the rest of his trek? COMMENT
