My Chem Cancel Shows

With their drummer hospitalized for a staph infection, My ChemicalRomance cancelled shows over Labor Day weekend in Allentown, PA, andSyracuse, NY, according to their official site. The infection wasapparently related to a severe burn incurred by stickman Bob Bryarduring the band’s recent video shoot in August; they cancelled anappearance in San Diego immediately after Bryar sustained that injury.”We are working on putting on other shows soon in those areas for freeto try and make it up to you,” the band said on their website. “One ofthe major disappointments of this, other than seeing Bob in pain, ismissing Taking Back Sunday and Circa Survive,” the band added. “Both ofthose bands are incredible and we hope they have an amazing show.”

MCR did play the MTV VMA pre-show Thursday, and a secret show at NYC’s Knitting Factory later that night (read more). The band also posted a new song from their forthcoming album, The Black Parade, on their MySpace page over the weekend.
