Arctic Monkeys New Video

Sheffield’s wunder-boys have dropped the video for “Leave Before the Lights Come On,” a track the band debuted live months ago but didn’t feature on their record-breaking debut, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not. The clip features British actor Kate Ashfield (Shaun of the Dead), who is cast as a potential jumper playing up her faux suicidal tendencies to land a boy, one of whom is played by Cinderella Man‘s Paddy Considine. Tune in to see if she gets the guy or just scares him away with her certifiably crazy antics. Plus, check out drummer Matt Helders cameo in the clip’s final seconds!

Here are some choice comments from YouTube:

“Holy crap, the boys must be bigger than I thought! Paddy Considine and Kate Ashfield?! Those are huge names. These guys have been really blessed with success! :)” — starrynight06

“A better ending would have been if she jumped of the building and landed on top of the dude so there are no more songs like this.” — GlenGilbert

“Moral of the story: Don’t rescue psychotic women. Hahaha! Good thing she never got her kiss. Freak. The guy should’ve called the police and have her sent to the mental institute.” — boamuro

“What a great video…the twist at the end adds a whole other dimension [that’s] sad and kinda bitter. There’s no fucking way you could have predicted that ending. Long live the Artic Monkeys.” — charlie111222333

“Mmmmmm sounds sexy!” — Milenko23

Talk: Do you think the girl in the music video should have landed the boy, or just landed on him? COMMENT
