Performing under the name Squarepusher, British producer Tom Jenkinson has announced plans to release his eighth studio album (Hello Everything, out Oct. 16), and his label’s website has the first track from it! “The Modern Bass Guitar,” whose BPM is practically convulsion-inducing, features a smattering of electronic pulses that gurgle and burble alongside rubbery synths. The song’s mid-section sounds wrung through a fax machine, and you’ll have to wait until the end to hear its airy chimes — it’s worth the wait!
