Tom Petty to Release New Solo Album

Tom Petty, who will take the stage tonight at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee, has signed with American Recordings to release his 18th album (and third solo effort), Highway Companion. Set for a July 25 release on the Rick Rubin-run label, Highway Companion will be led by the debut single, “Saving Grace,” which is currently available for streaming on tompetty.com. “Having Tom on American is a dream come true for me,” Rubin said of the new addition to his roster, which also includes System of a Down, Johnny Cash, Slayer, and The (International) Noise Conspiracy, among others.
