Patent Pending Enter Real World

Before hitting this summer’s Warped Tour to support Save Each Other, The Whales Are Doing Fine (read more), goofy pop punk upstarts Patent Pending found time to spoof the hit MTV reality show, The Real World. The Long Island quartet recruited amateur cinematographers to film the hilarious two-part series revealing that whales, or at least faux ones, might be doing too fine. True to The Real World where there’s always one troublemaking cast member, Benny the whale wreaks havoc on his roommates, the boys of Patent Pending. He eats their food, hogs the bathroom, cheats during poker games, steals their women, and invokes the ire of one band member, who ends the first episode declaring vehemently, “I hate Benny!”
