Blanche Readies New Album, Tour

Blanche, the gothic country-inspired group that features Greenhornes/Raconteurs member Jack Lawrence on banjo, has announced plans to release its sophomore album on January 22, 2007. To tide fans over before Little Amber Bottles hits stores early next year, the band — whose leader, Dan Miller, made his silver screen debut last year as a band member in Walk the Line — will release a four-five song EP and a video in October. They’re also planning a short jaunt in June, to be followed by a lengthier tour behind the new album next year. Given Lawrence’s Raconteurs schedule, Steve Nawara (Detroit Cobras, Electric Six) will fill in on banjo/autoharp duties.

Blanche tour dates:

6/9, Detroit, MI (Detroit Festival fo the Arts)
6/10, Lansing, MI (Sonic Day Festival)
6/15, Cleveland, OH (CMJ/Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Festival)
6/30, Detroit, MI (Detroit Tastefest)
