Two of the Mickey Mouse Club’s most famous grads will take the stage at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards.
Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake have been tapped to appear at the annual awards show, taking place on June 8, with Xtina performing and JT presenting. Aguilera is set to give a sneak peek of tunes from her forthcoming album, Back to Basics.
AFI, who will treat the crowd to the first-ever TV performance of their song, “Miss Murder,” have also been announced as performers, according to MTV News.
The performers are exciting and all, but this awards show is all about the movies. So, let’s get down to the big announcement: Who will hand out the Golden Popcorn? Stars set to bust out their Sunday best for the occasion include Ludacris, Will Ferrell, Kate Hudson, Owen Wilson, Kate Beckinsale, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Matt Dillon, and Kate Bosworth, among others. More performers and announcers will be announced as the show’s air date approaches.

Jessica Alba is set to host the awards show, which will be taped at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, California. The show will air on June 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, so get the popcorn ready — gold topping optional.
