Ted Leo On Tour, In the Theater

Rockers are into diversifying these days. First Elvis Costello writes a classical composition (read more), and now Ted Leo is dabbling in show tunes. According to Pitchforkmedia.com, Ted Leo is working on the score to a musical currently entitled Red Bananas about the United States’ relationship with Guatemala. The book for Bananas is penned by Brad Rouse, who approached Leo about the project. “It’s something that I’ve never done before and I’m actually pretty self-conscious about,” Leo said. “I’m not even 100 percent confident that what I’m doing is going to be good.” To get a dose of Leo without paying hoity-toity theater prices, catch Teddy on tour with the Pharmacists during the month of March as they support their new EP, El Picasoques.
