Sonic Youth Prepping 2006 LP

It takes staying power to be the godparents of indie rock, and Sonic Youth take their duties very seriously: The band is in the studio preparing to release a new LP in 2006. According to a post on the band’s official website, SY started recording this new material last year between tours. Extant song titles thus far include “Pink Steam,” “Do You Believe in Rapture?,” “Or,” and “Sleepin’ Around.” The band is recording at New York’s Sear Sound Studio, where 1987’s Sister and 1994’s Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star were recorded.
