Now it’s the Minus 5 plus 3: Members of Wilco, REM, and the Decemberists will be featured on The Gun Album, out February 7 on Yep Roc. The nucleus of the Minus Five collective is Scott McCaughey and Jon Ramberg, and on The Gun Album McCaughey and Ramberg are joined by REM’s Peter Buck, Bill Reiflin, all the members of Wilco, and Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy. Wilco has teamed up with the Minus 5 before on 2003’s Down with Wilco. The Minus 5 will be at Austin’s South by Southwest festival in March, and they’ll tour briefly on the west coast in the weeks leading up to SXSW.
