Pearl Jams for Blue States

Pearl Jam will play an August 29 benefit show in Montana to raise money for Democrat Jon Tester, who hopes to run for senate. Tester, the incumbent Montana State Senate president, wants to defeat Republican Conrad Burns, who has been a member of the U.S. Senate since 1988. Though Pearl Jam is from Seattle, bassist Jeff Ament has ties to the state, having attended college in Missoula, Montana. Tickets for the Tester benefit go on sale July 23. Pearl Jam will embark on a Canadian tour in September and will open for the Rolling Stones in Pittsburgh on September 28.
