DJ-producer Camilo Lara's third album as Mexican Institute of Sound feels like a drunken bumpercar ride away from his previously elegant, synth-infused records. Soy Sauce crams an electro twist into every track -- effectively on the ranchera-heavy "Yo Digo Baila" and less so on the ska-ish "Hiedra Venenosa." Lara, who built this Espanglish fun house with help from Café Tacuba's Joselo Rangel ("Cumbia"), takes a nosedive on an ill-fated hip-hop venture with Beastie Boy Ad-Rock ("Alocatel") and an oddly stuporous Spanish cover of the Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony.
