The Fireman, 'Electric Arguments' (MPL/ATO)
Formerly boring Beatle side project catches startling spark.

Somebody's been munching on monkberry moon delight again. The third album-length collabo under the Fireman moniker by Paul McCartney and former Killing Joke bassist/Orb member/Verve producer Martin Glover (a.k.a. Youth) features the cute one's wiggiest work in decades. Over 13 tracks (recorded in as many days), Arguments follows its own fuzzy logic from swamp blooze to haunted folk to anthemic guitar pop. A few late-album glow-stick groovers abruptly shift the vibe to rave-era bliss, but until then, turn off your mind and float downstream.
