TV on the Radio Make an Electric 'Return'
The hipster elite was in full effect Wednesday evening (March 28), practically giddy as Brooklyn's indie rockers TV on the Radio played to a sold out crowd at the Fillmore in San Francisco. And live, there's no rushing TVOTR's art.
From the low, punctuating bass lines of Gerard Smith to Dave Sitek's screeching guitars, and Tunde Adebimpe's high-pitched vocals, the beauty of the music was more than enough to satiate the mixed crowd of anxious twenty-somethings.
As the band charged through some of the more potent, droning songs from their latest effort, Return to Cookie Mountain, one female fan took a bit of a tumble, leaving Adebimpe briefly shaken. "It took me 20 minutes to relax," Adebimpe later admitted.
London's ragged punk trio, the Noisettes, opened the show, bouncing and twitching their way through an energetic set, and eventually returned to the stage with hand shakers and percussion, joining TVOTR for one last blast of raw energy. GARY MOSKOWITZ / PHOTOS BY CASEY FLANIGAN
