After playing for a crowd of 80,000 at last month’s Bonnaroo, and then headlining an exhaustive tour with Pearl Jam, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers won’t back down –they’ve added a third leg to their massive tour. Petty will have new opening acts — Frank Black, the Strokes and John Mayer, each on separate dates — Stevie Nicks is still scheduled to sing on stage with Petty as she did at Bonnaroo and the first eight shows of the tour. Aside from the tour, Petty’s latest, Highway Companion, arrives in stores July 25.
