Lots of people tweet — but all that Twitters is not gold.

That’s why you’ll want to check out SPIN.com every Friday to see whose tweets we’re reading this week — then update your TweetDeck! (Obligatory Self-Promotion: …while you’re at it, be sure to follow @SPINmagazine!)

This week’s winners are all playing at the Bamboozle Music Festival in New Jersey next weekend. Check them out:

  • Wiz Khalifa
    @RealWizKhalifa

    Why You Should Follow: When this Pittsburgh-based rapper released his free mixtape, Kush and Orange Juice, earlier this month, his fans made “#kushandorangejuice” the No. 1 Trending Topic on Twitter. Though he has yet to achieve national fame and mainstream airplay, he has more than 100,000 followers on the microblogging site — and it’s no wonder. His tweets are just as entertaining as his lyrics — and just as single-minded, too. When he’s not tweeting about getting “properly doobed,” he’s tweeting about… well, waking and baking, making pot brownies, “sharing weed wit the needy,” smoking in the studio, and searching for the perfect bong. He’s all about his fans, too, welcoming new followers every day and praising their weed-smoking tendencies. Go ahead and tweet at him — if he’s coherent, he’ll respond!

    Best Tweet of the Week: “man, i got cool ass parents…the kind that never punished me when teachers called home u knoe…”

  • The Ready Set
    @thereadyset

    Why You Should Follow: The Ready Set is the musical alias of 20-year-old Jordan Witzigreuter, whose mish-mash of pop-punk, electronica, and hip-hop recently caught the ear of Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz. Wentz signed Jordan to his label, Decaydence Records, and the up-and-coming star is now working on his first studio album, due sometime this spring. Follow him as he tries to turn his catchphrases into Trending Topics (“#moneypowerskinnyjeans”), plays the wallflower during parties (“Watching conversations take place. I have no role in them”), and battles his insomnia with intellectual stimulation (“I just wrote a 6 page cognitive psychology paper. I’m not in college, or even taking a class. You figure out the mystery”). He’s constantly jumping from one topic to the next on Twitter, writing about everything from hand sanitizer to cowboy boots to elephants. And check out his tweets next weekend — he’ll most likely be updating from backstage at Bamboozle!

    Best Tweet of the Week: “i grow weary of such buffoonery.”

  • Saves the Day’s Chris Conley
    @STDchris

    Why You Should Follow: Saves the Day defined the early-aughts emo sound with iconic albums like Through Being Cool and Stay What You Are. Now, the band is working on a seventh studio album, Daybreak, their first since several longtime members — including guitarist David Solaway — left the band to focus on other musical efforts. In the meantime, frontman Chris Conley is exploring his spiritual side and tweeting about the universe and its many mysteries. Expect lots of Zen ramblings (“staying with the body not with the mind. harmonious buzzing floating in the sway. an ocean of molecular waves and limitless time the end”) and trippy bits of made-up dialogue (“‘What IS this,’ says Goose. ‘Never know,’ asks Rabbit… ‘In between places and spaces the great O gives birth to it all,’ echoes Tree”), as well as occasional behind-the-scenes peeks at the recording of the new album.

    Best Tweet of the Week: “So strange Dick Cheney exists in the same Cosmos as exploding stars!”
