Ever since the band's 1999 breakthrough, The Man Who, Scot quartet Travis have mostly adhered to quiet, heartfelt tones and moody acoustic ballads. But with Ode to J. Smith, their just-released sixth album, Travis have something else in mind -- arena-filling anthems, crunchy hooks, and an all-out binge of dynamic rock.

Listen: Travis, Ode to J. Smith

Brilliant record. Bit rather than the 2 previous ones but still brillantly great!
Chincese Blues - outstanding melody and piano accompaniment. Especially the solo.
J.Smith: Great lyrics, great part choire composition.
Long way down: Very catchy, very cheecy, great melody, lots of energy
Before you were young: Simple melody - yet big on emotions.Together with the accoustic guitar and the beautiful Steinway piano one of the best songs on the record. The change to the energetic part with the "tam tam" (gong) and the e-guitar is amazing.
Something anything: Great work on the lead guitar!
Broken Mirror: Great work on the mixing part!
Got something to say?
