It wasn't until this past November that London producer Kwes felt compelled to share his singing voice from a stage, a move the 24-year-old singer-songwriter delayed because he was more comfortable working for other artists. That fact makes "Bashful" a perfect title for the opening track on the xx and Micachu associate's forthcoming meantime EP, an introduction to his velveteen blend of handcrafted, ultra-earnest electronica that's due via Warp. For the Ian Pons Jewell-directed clip below, he finds himself sandwiched between strangers, barely able to open his mouth.
