With a song title like "Your Band Controls the Weather," you'd think the Portland-based Minmae might be sending secret messages to Al "An Inconvenient Truth" Gore. "I should have called this song 'Your Band Creates the Weather,' because in an increasingly integrated world, no one can really 'control' the weather, global warming notwithstanding," frontman Sean Brooks told SPIN.com.

Semantic issues aside, "Your Band Controls the Weather" is tightly controlled itself, with a steady sense of unease courtesy of the repetitive drums and spare guitar rolling in like storm clouds. Minmae's psychedelic indie rock will rain down on Greyday Records with the release of 835 March 13.
