McAlmont & Butler Drop ‘Speed’

It’s been over a decade since David McAlmont — the velvet-vox singer who got his start supporting Morrissey on tour — last teamed up with former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler for a U.S. release, but the duo are back with a Britpop gem called “Speed.” Full of triumphant yeahs and brilliant melodies, McAlmont & Butler’s new track, which is slated for digital release Aug. 8, flows with the brio of some of the ’90s best swirling guitar pop. It meanders vibrantly, even as McAlmont meditates on life as a race: “Grab what you can keep it moving.”
