Hear Maria Minerva’s Entire ‘Bless’ EP, a Woozy Disco Prayer

Estonian lo-fi disco queen Maria Minerva has returned with the Bless EP, a woozy collection of hypnotic vocals and crisp beatwork that handily blurs the line between brazen experimentalism and pop-oriented dance music. Working as per usual with Los Angeles indie stalwart 100% Silk, the London-based artist dropped the vinyl version of the record this week, but you can stream the entire thing right here, from the blissed-out opener “Black Magick” to the George Carlin-sampling “Soulsearchin’.”

The five-song set also includes an excellent house-dipped remix of the first track by Northern California producer Lady Blacktronika, and the gothic-tropical rager “Symbol of My Pleasure [Form of My Pain],” downloadable below. Bless is the latest in a series of winning EPs from the former Wire Magazine art critic and aspiring improv comic (really, she’s taking classes at Upright Citizen’s Brigade). SPIN also premiered Sacred & Profane Love back in 2011.
