Jack Johnson Joins SPIN at Mile High Fest
The festival headliner talks about his Colorado roots, staying green, and his shaggier-than-ever 'do.
During this weekend’s sun-soaked Mile High Music Festival, bands stopped by the American Express® ZYNC ZONE, to chat with SPIN about their summer festival experiences and much more, among them Saturday’s festival headliner Jack Johnson — watch the interview and performance footage below!
In the interview, Johnson reminisced about how his touring career started in Colorado, playing coffeehouses and wineries, but it was more than just music venues that had him excited to play in the Rocky Mountain State. “I like being places where there’s mountains or oceans, so we can at least snowboard or surf when we tour,” he said.
Johnson also talked about how he’s trying to keep his tours green, mused on the differences between surfing and rock’n’roll, and even talked about his newish, longer-than-a-crewcut hairdo.
