With a post to her website, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has cleared up months of online rumors about New Moon's soundtrack. Now, dear vampire fans, it's official: The Killers, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Muse, and many more contribute new, original songs to the disc, out October 20 via Chop Shop/Atlantic, just a month before the film's November 20 release.

One of the most interesting bits: A mysterious collaboration between Bon Iver and St. Vincent called "Rosyln." Aweeeessoommmmmmeeeeeeee!

Yorke, who has been unveiling a stream of new solo and Radiohead songs of late, will contribute a tune titled "Hearing Damage"; Lykke Li, "Possibility"
; Grizzly Bear, "Slow Life"
; the Killers, "A White Demon Love Song"
; and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, "Done All Wrong."

The tracklist reads more like a seasoned music fan's dream mix-tape than a soundtrack to a vampire film idolized by 12-year-old girls.

While you cross reference the song titles with the series' four books for any clues into New Moon, listen to the first leak from the soundtrack: Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox," which frontman Ben Gibbard told MTV is about "meeting another halfway, because life is very short, because there's only a brief period of time to really connect with people, and that it's important to recognize that."

So… whether Death Cab's song's about Twilight's Bella and Edward or Gibbard's new wifey Zooey Deschanel or both is a little unclear. Either way: It's heavy and romantic!

New Moon tracklist:
1. Death Cab for Cutie: "Meet Me on the Equinox"

2. Band of Skulls: "Friends"

3. Thom Yorke: "Hearing Damage"

4. Lykke Li: "Possibility"

5. The Killers: "A White Demon Love Song"

6. Anya Marina: "Satellite Heart"

7. Muse: "I Belong to You (New Moon Remix)"

8. Bon Iver and St. Vincent: "Rosyln"

9. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: "Done All Wrong"

10. Hurricane Bells: "Monsters"

11. Sea Wolf: "The Violet Hour"

12. OK Go: "Shooting the Moon"

13. Grizzly Bear: "Slow Life"

14. Editors: "No Sound But the Wind"

15. Alexandre Desplat: "New Moon (The Meadow)"

Unfortunately they said that this 'wasnt their scene' I think it would have been great for them to let New Moon use one of their songs but oh well the soundtrack still kicks A$$ :o)

Yeah, but that Wolfmother song would've been perfect for the soundtrack, and it would've given them great international exposure! Would've been great to see an Aussie band on the soundtrack.

Wolfmother would never be on something like this! Thank god!

wasn't Kings of Leon supposed to have a song on this soundtrack?
