The Baptist Generals' first album since 2003's deeply affecting, folk- and country-kissed indie-rock sleeper No Silver/No Gold is out today. "Dog That Bit You," a searing, word-wise strummer from brand-new Sub Pop release Jackleg Devotional to the Heart now has a video that suits its off-kilter pathos. Directed by band member Jason Reimer, the clip shows a day in the life of a lonely misfit who happens to have an animal's face. "This one's written like a comedy," songwriter Chris Flemmons sings. As fans of tourmates the Mountain Goats might attest, it's the hint of underlying tragedy here that gives the comedy heft. This dog bites hard.
