INTERVIEWSAxl Rose Released from Swedish Jail

by SPIN Staff

Axl Rose was released from a Stockholm, Sweden, jail yesterday after he pleaded guilty to violent conduct and criminal damage. The singer was arrested early Tuesday (June 27) morning, after he became involved in a scuffle in the lobby of the Berns Hotel where he was staying, caused damaged to the lobby, and bit a security guard. When Rose was taken into custody, he was reportedly "too drunk to talk" and was detained until he sobered up enough to submit to questioning. Rose agreed to pay a fine of $5,500 and was released from prison, according to BBC News. He will also pay $1,360 to the security guard. Rose is set to play in Oslo, Norway with Guns N' Roses Wednesday.
