Apple to Launch iPhones in ’07?
The company may introduce two cell phones in the coming months, according to tech insiders.
Apple may finally introduce its long-awaited iPhone in early 2007, with two different models hitting the market: a smartphone, and a slim music phone, both of which will have WiFi capability and will be manufactured in small numbers, according to Forbes.com. The phones could launch as early as January 2007 at Apple’s MacWorld conference, a Prudential Equity Group analyst told the publication. Rumor has it that Apple will likely link with wireless carrier Cingular or T-Mobile.
According to AppleInsider, Apple has recently registered for a trademark in a “Far Eastern” trademark office, in which the phone is described as “handheld and mobile digital electronic device for the sending and receiving of telephone calls, faxes, electronic mail, and other digital data; MP3 and other digital format audio players.”
