  • She’s back! Amy Winehouse has scheduled four January gigs in Brazil, including three dates at the traveling Summer Soul Festival. Tickets go on sale November 22 here. [Amy Winehouse’s Official Site]

  • Patti Smith was honored with the National Book Award for her memoir Just Kids, which chronicles her friendship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe in the late ’60s and ’70s. [National Book Awards]

  • Pavement will make a guest appearance on Food Network’s hit show Ace of Cakes. In the episode, the reunited indie band get presented with a custom cake for their recent shows at New York’s Central Park. No air date is scheduled yet. [Chicago Reader, via Pitchfork]

  • Fever Ray‘s Karin Dreijer Andersson is making a cameo in Catherine Hardwicke’s new movie Red Riding Hood, and also contributing a song to the soundtrack. “In our movie, she’s wearing a harvest mask with a corn husk face and she’s singing and everybody’s dancing and singing,” says Hardwicke.
