Gunman Still at Large After Wounding One U.K. Festival Attendee

At the U.K.’s Tea Party Festival on Saturday, a gunman opened fire in V.I.P. tent around 8:30 p.m., according to British news outlets. The shooter is still at large after wounding a 27-year-old attendee in the chest, who is now in stable condition.

The Evening Standard reports that the incident, which took place at approximately 8:30 p.m., happened after a disturbance on the dance floor. Detectives believed this was an “isolated incident” and have implored witnesses to come forward with footage that could potentially lead to an arrest.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who was there who witnessed the incident to contact police, particularly if you have any photographs or video footage, which you may have taken on your mobile phone, of what happened,” said investigating officer Detective Constable Tom Parker. “This occurred when the VIP tent would have been busy, so if you were there and took a photo you may have captured the incident.”

The Tea Party Festival, primarily a dance event, was headlined by famed British DJs like Jaguar Skills, Hannah Wants, and DJ EZ.
