Fall Out Boy’s ‘Irresistible’ Video Is a Spinoff of ‘NSYNC’s Iconic ‘It’s Gonna Be Me’ Short

‘NSYNC’s video for “It’s Gonna Be Me” is an iconic artifact of the boy band-crazy early 21st century, and Fall Out Boy have revisited the short’s Toy Story-esque narrative for their latest video, “Irresistible,” the lead track off of American Beauty/American PsychoThe video, which features Demi Lovato (whose “Cool for the Summer” featured on SPIN‘s 101 Best Songs of 2015) and cameos by Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone, imagines “a dollar bin full of toys that no one really wanted” — and its description goes on to explain how the Fall Out Boy toys exist in the same store as the ‘NSYNC action figures. So think of it as a spin-off, if you will. Wayne Isham, who directed “It’s Gonna Be Me,” also directed “Irresistible.” Watch below.
