Scot-pop trio CHVRCHES’ new album Every Open Eye hits stores next month (September 25 to be precise), but the band’s been slowly trotting out samplers for fans, including this morning’s bold visual wonderland for lead single “Leave a Trace.” In the video, lead singer Lauren Mayberry paces carefully in a dark room prone to flashes of light; she gazes into a mirror image of herself, projecting her voice to cavernous expansions, wading through a pool of water as bandmates Iain Cook and Martin Doherty let the space’s fog take control. It’s a massively artistic piece that deserves, well, every open eye.
