Nick Jonas covered Years & Years’ hit “King” for BBC Radio 1, opting to strip the track of its electronic blips and speedy pace, and instead give it the acoustic treatment. The vocals on the original are quite passionate underneath all of the fun synths, but they come to the forefront in Jonas‘ soulful, bare version. It’s the best type of cover — distinct, but not unrecognizably different or unnecessary. Watch it above, and look for Years & Years’ new album, Communion, on June 22.
