Kanye West appeared on today’s episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show to preview the intimate video for “Only One,” (see video above) his collaboration with Paul McCartney that’s sung from the perspective of his late mother, Donda. As you may have guessed, the clip, directed by Spike Jonze, is a particularly mushy one, with West holding his daughter North and singing to her in a field.

Degeneres also interviewed Kanye about his marriage and fatherhood (“I’ve learned how to shut up more”), his endorsement switch from Nike to Adidas, and of course, the enormous changes in his music over the last few years, invoking the old adage, “The definition of crazy is trying to do the same thing and expecting different results.” She also asks, simply: “More kids?”

Later, Ellen showed a video of herself performing an awkward, charming rap for Kanye. You can watch both clips below.
