Hear Protomartyr’s Twisted Slow-Burner ‘Come & See’

protomartyr, come & see, under color of official right

Protomartyr urged “Scum, Rise!” back in January, and now the dynamic Detroit punks are beckoning “Come & See.” The foursome (featuring singer Joe Casey, guitarist Greg Ahee, bassist Scott Davidson, and drummer Alex Leonard) have just shared the second single from their upcoming sophomore album, Under Color of Official Right, out April 8 with aid from Hardly Art. “Scum, Rise!” delivered an urgent — but ultimately futile — post-punk call-to-arms, and “Come & See” deals with the fallout. “I’ll try to live defeated,” Casey sings over subdued, mumbly guitar strums. “Outside, animals sound / Come and see / They’ll lead us all to heaven.” Follow Protomartyr through the song’s crashing coda below.
