Future Associate OG Double D Mourned as Maybach Shooting Victim Still Unconfirmed
Twitter tributes pour in for music executive and rapper
A man was shot and killed in his Mercedes Maybach luxury car yesterday during rush hour in Atlanta. “It sounded like a bazooka,” an unidentified witness told Atlanta’s WSBTV. While the victim’s identity has not yet been officially confirmed, according to Atlanta Journal Constitution, various gossip and hip-hop websites are saying it was OG Double D, a music businessman and member of fellow Atlanta rapper Future’s FreeBand Gang.
Rappers and singers have already paid their respects to Double D on Twitter. Future wrote, “RIP UNKA #DD #FREEBANDDOUBLE..he called me the wizard & ima live up too it #lafamilia.” Monica also paid tribute, posting an image that includes a photo of Double D with Rick Ross. Freeband Gusto, a rapper mentioned in Monica’s Twitter feed, posted other photos of Double D, writing, “This was the only man that gave me some real game i love and miss my nigga OGD.”
More details will still emerge, and we should reiterate that officials have yet to confirm Double D’s death. According to gossip websites such as MediaTakeOut.com, Double D helped finance Rocko, Future, and Rozay. But much about Double D is unclear. But that, too, is unconfirmed.
