Built to Spill, Camper Van Beethoven Swing Over to Treefort Fest Lineup

Treefort Music Fest — Boise, Idaho’s four-day music festival that aligns big-name bands with local acts — just booked a big-name local band: Boise, Idaho’s own Built to Spill.

According to an official announcement released today (January 30), Built to Spill will play a three-day showcase at Treefort, supported by a lineup hand-picked by  Spill mastermind Doug Martsch. Camper Van Beethoven, Quasi, Scarf, the Apostrophes, Lenguas Largas, Genders, Dark Swallows, the Hand, and Tommy Dirtweed will all play alongside Martsch’s Perfect From Now On pet project.

Treefort runs from March 21 to 24, but Built to Spill kick off their residency at venue El Korah Shrine on March 22. For their first show, the guitar gods will perform their debut album, 1993’s Ultimate Alternative Wavers, with Quasi, Scarf, and the Apostrophes also on the bill; night two will feature regular sets from Built to Spill, Lenguas Largas, Genders, and Dark Swallows; the final gig will consist of a night of covers from the headliners, plus performances from Camper Van Beethoven, the Hand, and Tommy Dirtweed.

Also added to Treefort’s roster: Earth, the Thermals, El Ten Eleven, Deathfix, Menace Ruine, Wolvserpent, Tartufi, Blasted Canyons, Wax Idols, the Mallard, Uzala, Rose Windows, Natasha Kmeto, Burnt Ones, Finn Riggins, Death Songs, Brett Netson and Snakes, Shy Girls, Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt, and Karaoke From Hell.

This new batch of artists fills out an already lengthy call sheet: Animal Collective, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Youth Lagoon, Dan Deacon, THEESatisfaction, Sage Francis, Delicate Steve, Japanther, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Foxygen, Shlohmo, Shigeto, Widowspeak, Bad Weather California, White Lung, French Horn Rebellion, Wooden Indian Burial Ground, Emily Wells, Naomi Punk, Digital Leather, Radiation City, Pickwick, LAKE, SISU, the Pharmacy, SUBLIME FREQUENCIES, Grass Widow, Magic Sword, Wampire, the Heligoats, SW/MM/NG, Messy Sparkles, the Brothers Comatose, Lynden Williams, James Plane Wreck, Campfire OK, the Last Bison, NUDE POP, Kris Orlowski, Thollem Electric, Stickers, Pony Time, Hang Time, Ugly Hussy, BOYS, Lionsweb, Terrible Buttons, the Dodgy Mountain Men, and many more.
