The PLUG Independent Music Awards, which kicked off the ceremony-laden weekend Saturday night at New York City’s Irving Plaza, has announced this year’s winners. Hosted by comedian David Cross, the event featured performances by nominees like Tokyo Police Club, Deerhoof, El-P, Silversun Pickups, and PLUG Impact Award honoree Stephen Malkmus. Top category award victors include Band of Horses with Album of the Year for their debut record Everything All The Time, late rapper/producer J Dilla, who was honored as Artist of the Year, and Indie Rock Album of the Year champs Yo La Tengo.
