Holy #$%&! South Park Honored for TV Excellence
At last night's Peabody Awards ceremony, the seminal animated series earned praise for being "fresh and hilarious" after almost a decade.
Almost ten years after it first aired, South Park was honored Monday night at the 65th annual Peabody Awards for its political incorrectness and “primitive animation.” South Park “pushes all the buttons…and shatters every taboo,” Peabody Director Horace Newcomb said when the winners were initially announced in April. “Through that process of offending it reminds us of the need for being tolerant.” Jon Stewart, who hosted the ceremony on Monday, praised the ability of creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone “to keep the show fresh and hilarious.”
