Upcoming 2021 Album Releases You Need to Know About

There are several high-profile albums yet to come in the second half of 2021. Some of the world’s biggest artists are set to release new music with chart success expected.

Here’s a look at some of those big-name artists and what they have lined up this year.

Anne-Marie – Therapy

British single Anne-Marie is set to release her 2nd studio album in July 2021. The 30-year-old’s first album Speak Your Mind peaked at number three in the charts and featured top-ten hit Ciao Adios. 

Anne-Marie has since had successful collaborations with Marshmello on ‘Friends’ which peaked at no. 4 in the UK singles charts, James Arthur on ‘Rewrite the Stars’ which peaked at no.7, and KSI & Digital Farm Animals on ‘Don’t Play’ which peaked at no. 2. 

Though she is yet to have a UK no.1, Anne-Marie has had a lot of chart success, most recently peaking at no. 13 with Niall Horan on ‘Our Song’. Her newest release is set to be ‘Kiss My (Uh-Oh)’ with Little Mix. 

Dappy – Fortune 

Former N-Dubz member Dappy makes a return with another solo project in 2021. This new album is named Fortune and will follow on from his releases in the last couple of years.

Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever 

The teenage superstar is still only 19 but is set to release her second studio album after her successful 2019 release ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’. Her debut album reached number in tens of countries including the UK and the US.  

Her single ‘Bad Guy’ peaked at no. 2 in the UK but topped multiple charts in other nations. So far, ‘Your Power’ has charted strongly from her new album ‘Happier Than Ever’ coming soon. 

Maisie Peters – You Signed Up For This 

Up-and-coming artist Maisie Peters is set to release her new album ‘You Signed Up For This’ later this year. The 21-year-old signed for Ed Sheeran’s label Gingerbread Man Records earlier in 2021.  

Ahead of her latest album, Maisie Peters has released two tracks entitled ‘John Hughes Movie’ and ‘Psycho’, the latter of which was co-written alongside Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac. At the time of writing, ‘Psycho’ is her most successful single, peaking at 85 in the UK charts. 

Imagine Dragons – Mercury Act 1 

American pop rock band Imagine Dragons will be releasing their fifth studio album this year when they drop ‘Mercury Act 1’. Imagine Dragons have had consistent chart success with their four previous albums, landing three number 2s and a number 1 with ‘Smoke + Mirrors’. 

They have so far released three songs from their upcoming album. ‘Follow You’ has had the most chart success in the UK and the US from the three, however, it has only peaked at 100 in the UK and 68 across the pond. 

Avril Lavigne – TBA 

American singer Avril Lavigne will be releasing her seventh album later this year having announced that the lead single will be out in the summer. The 36-year-old topped the charts with her first three studio albums ‘Let Go’, ‘Under My Skin’, and ‘The Best Damn Thing’.   

Her following three albums had moderate chart success, peaking at 9, 14, and 10 chronologically. To date, Avril Lavigne has had one no.1 in the US with her single ‘Girlfriend’ which peaked at no.2 in the UK. It has been 14 years since Lavigne last released a top ten single in the UK.
