Bauhaus lead singer Peter Murphy will be entering a rehabilitation facility, necessitating the cancellation of the legendary U.K. band's upcoming North American tour dates. The 15-date trek was scheduled to begin Sept. 6 in Toronto and close in Los Angeles on Sept. 29. The tour's two New York-area dates at Brooklyn's Kings Theatre on Sept. 8-9 were were postponed from November 2021 due to visa issues. Bauhaus kicked off its 2022 roadwork in May at the Cruel World festival in Pasadena, Calif., and performed a few west coast dates before heading to Europe. Its last performance was Aug. 27 in Vilar de Mouros, Portugal, which apparently went off without incident. SPIN reviewed the tour's "chaotic and thrilling" first headlining show at Portland's Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, which noted, "there was no way to ignore Murphy’s frustration." Bauhaus released its first single in fourteen years, "Drink the New Wine," in March. The group's most recent album is 2008 Go Away White.
