Today, Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for Wilson, alt-comics icon Daniel Clowes’s adaptation of his 2010 graphic novel of the same name. Clowes has previously adapted his work in collaboration with director Terry Zwigoff in Ghost World and Art School Confidential.
Once attached to Nebraska and Sideways director Alexander Payne, Wilson, due out in March of next year, is directed by Craig Johnson—best known for 2014’s The Skeleton Twins—with a screenplay by Clowes.
The film stars Woody Harrelson as Wilson, a middle-aged man (a typical Clowes brand of misanthrope) who stumbles into being a family man at an unexpected time. The star-studded cast also features Laura Dern, Judy Greer, Cheryl Hines, and (judging by the trailer) Margo Martindale.
