He refused to reunite with Billy Corgan, but former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha is now making music with another ’90s icon — Taylor Hanson, vocalist of “Mmm Bop” band Hanson!?!

Iha and Hanson, plus Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos and Fountains of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger, have formed a new supergroup, Tinted Windows. The quartet will make their debut at SXSW March 20 and have already completed their debut album. It was recorded at New York’s Stratosphere Sound Studios, which Schlesinger and Iha co-own with Ivy’s Andy Chase.

A spokesperson tells SPIN.com that the band have already shot two music videos and plan to tour with guitarist Josh Lattanzi (The Lemonheads, Albert Hammond, Jr.). He added that Carlos’ involvement was like a dream come true for Iha, Hanson, and Schlesinger, who, after joining forces, agreed that Carlos would be their band’s ideal drummer. So they gave him a call — and he agreed to join.
