According to a report by People, D’Angelo has been tapped to play Saturday Night Live on January 31. It’ll be the much-revered singer’s first appearance on television following the release of his surprise December album, Black Messiah. J.K. Simmons — who was recently nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in Whiplash — is set to host the episode, but it’s fair to say that all eyes will be on D’Angelo’s rare televised appearance.
