Watch Major Lazer Explore Cuba in the Trailer for New Doc Give Me Future

Last March, Major Lazer performed a massive, historic concert at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba. The group documented the process of such a politically and economically fraught endeavor for a new concert documentary, Give Me Future, which will be released on November 17 via Apple Music. The movie will be also be accompanied by a collection of songs inspired by the film.

Today, Major Lazer released a lengthy preview for the documentary featuring Diplo, Jillionaire, and the rest of the group meeting with festival organizers, local music fans, and Charlie Rose to spread their music across the internet-deprived country. More than simply a performance film, the trailer provides a more in-depth look at cultural distribution in Cuba – we meet a rogue internet pirate who wants to “give people information that’s hard to get.” The clip concludes with a poignant voiceover of a woman from Cuba discussing the impact the music has had on her life: “I live in a city that’s suspended in time..slow paced. That’s why I love electronic music. I don’t feel so frozen in time. It gives me a future.” Watch the trailer below.
