Belle and Sebastian Release New Single ‘Young and Stupid’

Their first album in 7 years is set to release on May 6

Belle and Sebastian unveiled their latest single “Young and Stupid.” The song is off their upcoming new album A Bit Of Previous out May 6 via Matador. The single is accompanied by a lyric video showcasing the band members’ family photo albums which adds to the nostalgic nature of the track.

“Young and Stupid” is the second single off of A Bit Of Previous, preceded by “Unnecessary Drama.” The band recorded the album in the spring of 2020 in Glasgow. “We did it together, us and the city. This record was the first ‘full’ LP recording for B&S in Glasgow since Fold Your Hands Child, 1999. We clocked in every morning, we played our songs, we wrote together, we tried new things, we took the proverbial lump of clay, and we threw it every day,” Stuart Murdoch said.

In support of the album, Belle and Sebastian will be going on tour starting in late May. The band will be touring throughout North America and Europe accompanied by acts such as Japanese Breakfast, Tennis, Divino Niño, Thee Sacred Souls, and Los Bitchos.
