Just when you thought the year was careening to a halt, here comes Nas. The rap veteran will release a new album just in time for Christmas. Titled Magic, Nas teamed up again with producer and longtime collaborator Hit-Boy on the nine-song collection. A$AP Rocky and DJ Premier will feature on “Wave Gods.”

Magic is Nas’ second album of 2021, following the August release of King’s Disease II. That album featured guest spots from Eminem, EPMD, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, YG and Ms. Lauryn Hill. The Grammy-nominated album was the sequel to the initial King’s Disease, which was out in the summer of 2020. King’s Disease earned the rapper his first Grammy victory in the Best Rap Album category. King’s Disease beat out albums by Royce 5’9,” Jay Electronica, D SMOKE and Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist. The latter pair’s collaborative album Alfredo landed on our list of the Best Albums of 2020.

Last week, Nas’ 2001 album Stillmatic turned 20. Magic will be his 14th studio album overall going along with a slew of compilation albums, mixtapes, EPs and singles.
