Yo-Yo Ma Plays Concert in Clinic After Receiving COVID-19 Vaccine

Yo-Yo Ma received his second COVID-19 vaccination at a field house clinic in Berkshire Community College on Saturday, and treated fellow patients and healthcare workers to a concert following the jab.

While waiting the standard 15 minutes for observation post-inoculation, the famed cellist took out his instrument and played a brief set. According to the Berkshire Eagle, Ma “wanted to give something back.”

The 65-year-old took a seat along the wall of the observation area, masked and socially distanced away from others. When his 15-minute performance was over, Ma saluted the clinic as the room burst into applause. He then waved and placed his hand on his heart before leaving.
