Game of Thrones Finale Sets All-Time HBO Ratings Record

Game of Thrones went out on top — at least as far as the ratings were concerned. While the series finale drew mixed reviews from critics, its commercial dominance was not in dispute.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series finale garnered a staggering total of 19.3 million viewers across all HBO channels, including 13.6 million viewers for its first televised airing on Sunday night alone.

Game of Thrones claims the all-time HBO ratings crown previously held by The Sopranos, which drew 13.43 million viewers on its fourth-season premiere in 2002.
