Baroness kicked off their co-headlining tour with Deafheaven last night in Houston, and during their set, the band performed a completely new song, as Stereogum points out.

Allegedly titled “Borderlines,” the song appears to be the same one the band shared in a short teaser clip on Twitter and Instagram earlier this week, where they claimed fans could “hear the rest of this new song on tour.” The social media clip includes the cryptic alphanumeric title “871 c & 8 c,” which some fans believe to be Pantone codes pointing to an album either titled Gold & Grey or Gold & Silver. Either way, the song itself is a heavy, riff-driven track immediately reminiscent of songs like Yellow & Green‘s “March to the Sea” and “Mtns. (The Crown & Anchor).”

Baroness last album Purple was released in 2015. Just before the album’s release, the band held an online scavenger hunt, leaking their album track around the internet for fans to find. Check out their new song below and revisit our 2016 interview with the breakthrough metal act.
